About Us

The Visual Revolution Has Begun

K And A Films is an award-winning production company based in Inverness.
Formed two years ago by husband and wife team Kriss Suzanne Ritchie and Alex Collett, we specialise in digital stills and video work for corporate clients and the arts community.

Kriss is a trained actress, drama-worker, broadcaster, producer, designer and singer/song-writer, as well as being an accomplished editor, photographer and camera operator. Alex is a B.A. (Hons.) film graduate with many years experience in the broadcast and film industries; his skills base covers screen-writing, editing, photography, D.O.P and camera operation work and directing.

Our recent documentary work includes the Loopallu, Tartan Heart and Outsider Music Festivals. A promotional video for the Royal Bank of Scotland 2007 Highland Tattoo, a 50 minute project for the Scottish Executive Office and a programme for the Forestry Commission. We presently have several documentaries in pre-production, including a commercial DVD about the history and contemporary life of Inverness - a portrait of a new City in all it’s shades and colours.

Our fiction work is, perhaps, one of our greatest strengths. We came top ten in the Three Minute Thriller Competition for Canon and top five in the international MSN short film competition. We have also just recently finished post-production work on our first feature length project. Called Measured it is a dark, psychological, quirky thriller set in the backwaters of the Highlands. Produced by and featuring Kriss in one of the main roles, written, shot and directed by Alex , Measured embraces the spirit of digital, guerrilla film-making; shot in 11 days with a crew of 5, 13 actors, little money and a wing and a prayer. We were proud to utilise local skills and talent, particularly with regard to the soundtrack which features music and songs from a diverse range of Highland-based bands and musicians.

We are very happy with the end production and know that K And A Films have created a unique and entertaining film which should be of particular appeal to international festival audiences.
